Yay I’ve been explored!
And that with a photo I would never in a million years expect to make it there lol
I was like.. should i even upload it at all, it looks very snapshotish, wont fit in my gallery etc… but idk I just did. Didnt do anything special, just sent to a few groups, it got just a few comments and then bang, it showed up in explore, then it got some more attention and moved even higher, currently it’s #6 *scratches head*

Actually my pics have been explored quite a few times before, but mostly my very ancient stuff though. I guess this is the first time it got featured right away after I submitted it.. I’ve had some top 10 pics, but usually they would just slowwwly make their way to the top, which could take like months..
Yesterday I got like 3700 views lol

usually i get like 30 times less than that lol so yea very very shocking, but idk I guess i just got lucky:P

Well, yeah, creepy, it’s just I tend to kinda like pics on which I don’t look like me at all.

well, yes it’s kinda gay, but well lol I just tried to have fun with this little light, which wasn’t that much fun, as autofocus tends to get very friggin confused in the darkness, so it just wouldn’t take a damn pic. I shot on full auto at iso 3200 and pretty slow shutter, so the quality kinda sux, but doesn’t suck as bad comparing to my panasonic lumix cam. i tried it for fun to see the difference in performance..

and well the noise is just completely intolerable and it was only iso1600.. so yeah that’s where point and shooters totally blow… but what i’ve noticed is that it had this red light that would help cam focus in low light.. is it me or Canons really don’t have the feature?..

But this is not it. I have some more ‘quality’ stuff coming up just need to finish edit those and ill be posting them pretty soon:) here’s a small preview of ‘da look’

framing kinda sux… but is the best i could do, as there was no more room in the bathroom.. obviously the whole shoot was lotsa fun..
too bad the ‘background’ needed alot of editing, there were a few with more pix with some priceless poses, but i dont have time to edit that again…

i’m still amazed by all the detail 5d can capture..this is my fingerprint at 100% from the photo above.

ugh of course i got much more retouching work now…

and one more… at first i liked it.. now not as much

I said I would own it one day and now I do! I got Canon 5d markII last week!

So far I’m loving it, the 21mp resolution is amazing and it feels like full frame is just the way it’s meant to be… Tbh I always kinda thought that it was exactly same like canon 500d etc series just a full frame cam with better quality build and a few frills here and there.. and I was very wrong. It’s a totally different thing. It’s significantly bigger and heavier and the design and controls are quite different as well, so I’m still feeling a bit blond while using it:P

Guess the only thing I could complain about would be the quality of jpegs comparing to raw.. did some side to side comparison and some detail is obviously missing in jpegs..
Never loved raw, as the sizes are too much and as basically I kinda do it for fun, if there was some minor artefacting in the poorly lit parts of the image, I was fine with that. Now I have to shoot raw because jpeg quality isnt acceptable even for me..
Oh and the fact that it doesn’t have a built in flash is a bit weird.. not that I ever use it, it just feels more comfortable knowing that its there lol

I also got a 85 F1.8 lens.. sure 1.2 L one is a dream, but at that price I can just keep dreaming.. or get 3 other lenses instead lol

Well, before starting doing different creative things with it, I realized that this is like the only time when I have 2 cameras at the same time, which means now I can take a picture of me taking a picture (without using a mirror). That’s why i thought i should execute that idea asap while I still have my 450d

The essence of being a photographer…always bending over backwards to get that perfect shot…
Too bad I didn’t get it lol Even tho it doesn’t look like it, it was really extremely hard, the cam is very heavy and I always start feeling dizzy whenever my head is upside down.. and the fact that I hardly ever work out didn’t help too lol so after like 50 shots I gave up lol
So it’s not what i perfectly wanted, but it’s not so bad..

The second idea was to portray what I’m doing, meaning being a photographer and a model at the same time. So obviously, it had to be a clone picture. but.. once I started taking those photos I couldn’t help making stupid faces… so what was supposed to be kinda artistic turned into this…

ok it’s been forever. again… guess i haven’t had much time for this… would love to take some new photos… buut recently I’ve been busy..  got a new pc and a windows7.. yay! and nay.. i pretty much hate Win7..  been struggling with it for the last week and still have so much to do… pretty much everythig about it is pissing me off lol from the clear type text to the fact that i can’t even access my own files as supposedly i don’t have a permission to use my own pc. so i’m supposed to waste my time looking all over internet for tutorials how to make this thing work. i guess i know what that 7 stands for, a perfect OS for noobs and children up to seven with some overprotective freak parents. i would like a windows 21 then please. Trying photoshop cs4 now.. well it looks different, and seems very resource consuming well i’m not sure as for now.. it  looks like they tried to optimize the workflow so ui looks different and it seems to have some 3d support that i’m very curious to try.. so def not epic fail-ish

And as for the pix that i wanted to post.. these are actually pretty old…

it’s actually weird… every time i get a new graphics card some photos start to look so different… but at least now i have a feeling the gamma isn’t messed up and i can see everything the way it’s supposed to look.. yay

and i’m not sure what is that supposed to be… there was one photo outta this batch that turned out interesting… but i don’t want to scare anyone that much :X

I’m not too happy with these.. i only like them when they are taking up all my screen..downsized, they look to say the least weird lol but well it is what it is:)

I thought I should do something different.. maybe try sth more.. ugh, natural..  besides i wanted  to  play with softbox type lighting.. But in the end it didnt turn out very inspiring.. the pictures were just cracking me up lol it’s been a looong time since i took pix looking like that XD

yep it has… my site is falling apart completely too.. my awesome hosting[bluehost].. had a major server crash and of course it had to be one where all my sites were hosted.. after like a day they did restore most of it though.. in fact the only thing i guess is missing is my jaydeephoto/images folder..thats where all my site layout graphics were and i dont have a backup/psd file, thats why, well.. for now it’ll stay as is. i’m too lazy to redo the layout

so yea as i said it’s been a while ever since my last upload.. not that my camera was completely unused all this time. I guess its been used for other purposes rather than self portraits… well the great news is that i got  a new lens. i love my 50mm one, but you know it’s kinda limiting. So i wanted to get a more universal walk around type lens.. so here it is!

Canon 24-105mm F4 L

It’s funny I actually have had another canon lens with the very same range but it was a cheaper one with F3.5 and what can i say it was crap. even though generally the reviews are good, at least mine wasn’t then. It wasnt nearly as good as my portrait lens so i just sold it.

now my new 24-105 is just amazing! even tho i’ve just been playing around with it without trying to do anything seriuos, from what i could see on the pics i took, i can tell i really love it. i wanted a universal lens and i got it. it can do very detailed closeups/macros.. of course not actual ‘hardcore’ macro, but still I was pleasantly surprised how close it can get and it can do wideangle stuff.. again maybe not an extreme fisheye, but still i was missing this stuff after i switched from my compact. The downside of it is that it needs alooot of light though.. so it’s not too perfect for portraits, but I could live with that. well here are some of my crappy photos

as you can tell i’m really lazy to photoshop my photos these days.. it used to be the other way around.. at times i was too lazy to move my ass around and do something.. but when i did i couldnt wait to photoshop the crap outta it.. but now the whole editing part.. is more of a drag tbh *sigh* but well.. i’ll be back

and. it didnt really turn out well..
first, who would’ve thought i’d look so horrible in blond hair? the whole thing was supposed to be a tribute to Hollywood Whore song by Papa Roach, so i had a some sorta caricature/parody in my mind. most of the shots turn out boring, as the lighting was too plain and because even with bright red lipstick, ton of eyeshadow and blond hair wig i still make an awful whore lol i mean i like trying different things, sometimes they work out, sometimes they dont. if you know me well, youll find this one hilarious, if you don’t ah well think whatever u like..

and this one i took right after i took off the wig, whats weirding me out about this shot is that i actually look like a guy here lol while you know i usually look just too girly, so guess the diversity is good..

idk don’t ask why, I just have this thing with domain names that after a while i feel like changing them lol

Not that I even hated mine, I kinda liked it, but Jaydeephoto was my primary choice and a year ago it was taken. in fact pretty much every single name I wanted was taken and I didnt want to settle for a .net domain either. Recently I was bored, so I checked some of the domains I wanted and jaydeephoto had been dropped, so it thought I should get it. And then after doing some thinking I’ve decided that even though it has an extra letter it’s still a better name, so I changed it..not that it even matters much… but guess it’s just me

21mpixel, full frame and it’s so awesome it has video. i was so.. ticked off when i found out slrs don’t normally have video capture option..while the low end cams usually do.. well im glad they added it.all I ever wanted in a cam..the price sucks though.. $2,500 or sth around that area, so there’s no way im getting this any time very soon, besides i need to get my current cam to a heavily used condition first:P

so i saw this pretty apple in the supermarket and the rest of the story is pretty much self explanatory.. lol one of my first ideas was to portray some sorta gothic Snowwhite who is about to die or sth?.. but if you look at those photos the main theme would have to be the temptation.. its funny actually i didn’t have to act that much cuz i was thirsty and there i was playing with this apple trying to get a perfect shot (as if they exist) but i couldn’t eat it cuz it was the only one i had.. damn:P
the photos turned out… okay except the lighting wasn’t the greatest and made me look horrible i mean the way i actually look lol so i had to make up for ALOT in photoshop but i actually like the way
they turned out..well 2 of those at least…

This is my fav unless that flirty attitude would start getting on my nerves one day..

And this haha.. well it came out blurry,so i didnt spend too much time editing i was just curious what it would turn out like.. now i know.. way too gothly and weird gotta love black apples though..

So yeah to my surprise there were quite alot of shots i liked/ones worth working with, cuz usually i like 1-2 in a hundred.. this time i had more work to do..
and well excuse me as the set up is kinda boring.. you know plain lighting on white bg, buut i just wanted to do this for a long while just didnt have the right conditions for that, so now guess i just ‘had to’

And this one didnt make it into the gallery.. i feel like sth is missing.. perhaps my arm lol

So i’ve made this site. not that you can’t tell of course.

my first off flickr photo gallery went private only and to my surprise people started asking me about where it all went. so i thought i’d start over and make a very simple tiny site. so i’ve came up with this most awesome domain name… And yea it’s supposed to mean Jaydee shot not jaydee’s hot or jaydee’s shot lol I could’ve spent more time on the layout.. but hey if this site ever turns into something at least a little bit bigger i’d have to redo the whole layout anyways, so whatever simplicity rocks
